The sole radio play written by playwright, dissident and Czech President Václav Havel, GUARDIAN ANGEL is a study in paranoid comedy and comical menace. Taking as his jumping-off point the archetypal situation of the mysterious stranger at the door, Havel creates a sideways satire of police-state mentality. Staged half as radio drama, half as experimental theater, this production is the premiere American production of a new translation by longtime Havel collaborator (and former Plastic Person of the Universe) Paul Wilson. |
